Acupuncture is a therapeutic
method used to encourage the body’s natural defenses
and recuperative powers to bring your health to a
state of wholeness and balance. Acupuncture is known
to reduce or relieve pain, but can also be used to
increase circulation, reduce inflammation, enhance
the body’s immunity, improve mood and energy and
improve function of affected areas of the body
Acupuncture is a safe, natural, drug-free and effective way to treat a wide variety of medical problems, and to create a balanced energetic interplay of the factors affecting your health.
How does Acupuncture work?
At the core of this ancient medicine is the philosophy of Qi (pronounced “chee”) or vital energy, an intelligent energetic system that maintains health and balance. This subtle form of energy supports, and shapes our physical body and activates our lives. Our Qi flows through pathways called meridians, that are like rivers inside our body. As a river flows, it carries water that provides nourishment and sustenance for life on our planet. Similarly, meridians are the rivers where Qi flows inside of us as an invisible current; energizing, nourishing and supporting every cell, tissue, muscle, organ and gland.
Acupuncture works by stimulating specific points on the body that act as gateways to balance this flow of energy throughout the meridians. When Qi becomes blocked in one part of the body, the flow becomes restricted in other parts. When a blockage or imbalance occurs, illness, pain or disease can set in. Once the imbalances of Qi are detected, acupuncture can unblock the obstruction and activate Qi. When Qi is balanced and flowing freely, the body’s natural self-healing abilities are activated, enabling internal stability and harmony to occur.
Traditional Chinese Medicine uses Acupuncture- fine needles inserted into body meridian points or Acupressure – for those who prefer not to have needles. Depending on your health situation we can enhance a traditional Chinese Acupuncture treatment with the following:

Auricular Acupuncture is the stimulation of acupuncture points on the external surface of the ear for the healing of dis-ease and dysfunction within the body. It is a clinically proven, non-invasive, cost effective method of acupuncture used for many disorders ranging from pain relief to neurological disorders to addiction.
The ear holds a micro-system of the whole human body and is consistent with the brain map discovered by the Canadian neuroscientist Wilder Penfold in the 1940’s. This brain map in turn is projected onto different areas of the body as ‘micro systems’ such as the sole of the foot (reflexology), the iris of the eye (iridology), and, of course, the ear – as auricular acupuncture. The ear holds the most dense and specific reflection of the brain map and provides us with a gateway to assess and treat areas of distress in the body.
By stimulating specific ear points in the auricular microcosm, bi-directional connections are activated in both the brain, and the body which in turn leads to increased circulation, decreased inflammation and balancing of energy and Qi within the body. Ear points are stimulated using laser, magnets or ear pellets.
Acupuncture can be very effective in the treatment of many health ailments including:
